Meet Anna Laurini – London-based artist, through her work :
How would you describe your personal painting style?
I paint colours that are seeking silence, the empty space between a brush stroke and another, the canvas get filled with colours whilst the mind empties, the thoughts are becoming colours , so when I look at them they can remind me what I was thinking and feeling when I painted.
What are your main influences – art and otherwise?
I’ve always been fascinated by the Abstract Expressionism movement, but I also love Picasso in each of his periods…I do like street art and everything that has beautiful colours compositions, simplicity and honesty within.
What’s next for you?
I’m always looking for new venue to organise my own exhibition or with artist that I like. At the moment I’m collaborating with a tattoo artist in his studio in Hackney,
I’m preparing an event which will take place at the end of March. I will keep you posted, meanwhile enjoy the colours.
